October

FULL COURT NEWSLETTER

Welcome Pirates! This Newsletter is your monthly update on all things Englewood Basketball, from our youth feeder program through the high school teams.

The Importance of October

Cooling temperatures, changing leaves and shorter days means a sense of urgency for basketball. Tryouts are complete for our youth teams and tryouts will be here soon for the high school players. Throughout October, workouts and practices have an added importance along with the preparations needed to provide the best for our Pirate players.

October is a big month for basketball and your help is appreciated more than you may know. I promise that not all Newsletters will be so focused on raising funds, but this one will be. It's worth it though.

We offer 5 ways to be involved; sponsorship, donations, time/talent, buying apparel, and attending games/events.

The impact of your involvement is immense by helping our players feel supported, cared for, and valued for their work. It also helps our families know that our community cares about them especially for families with limited resources. Additionally, the community’s participation allows us to offer free youth clinics that engage young players who are still learning the game.

While we all wish that the need for fundraising isn’t as high as it is, it's important to keep in mind that ultimately it’s about the players.

Our community means the world to us.

High School Support

You can show your support to our programs through sponsoring items specifically needed for the teams.

  • For example, this summer, Legacy Dental Partners purchased 4 new basketball balls for the boys basketball team as CHSAA is requiring us to use new game balls. The impact on our teams was immediate because it allowed us to practice with them straight away.

We have some large budget items that we need your assistance with. Any companies or individuals that financially support our teams will be recognized in our fieldhouse, website, and future newsletters. With your sponsorship help, we can place orders this month to receive items by our first games in November.

Here are a few items we’re looking for.

This is an opportunity to provide funds needed for other expenses like game day meals, summer camps, training equipment needs, transportation and other costs.

Here’s how you can donate:

Purchasing team apparel or gear is a great way to show your support and to help spread the word about our school and programs. We have items for sale on our website and we will have additional pieces to sell during games this season!

This is a great way to impact our program by donating your time and using your skills. From helping organize our events, fundraising outreach, running game-time concessions, creative talents, or something we haven’t thought about yet - reach out and let us know!

Show your support by cheering on teams, attending youth clinics, coming to community events, and helping with community service projects. You being there means a lot to all of us!

Our Next Community Event:

RSVPing helps give us a better number attendees.

Supporter of the Month

Adam and Jess Devereaux
Adam, addition to being in charge of our youth competitive teams, is an alum of Englewood who selflessly supports us. He and his wife were quick to answer the call for support years ago and have stayed involved ever since. We truly can’t say enough about how amazing the Devereauxs are! - Coach John
